Ram bowlers show improvement

The Greene County boys bowling team is now 4-0 while the girls team is 0-4 after the teams played in Ankeny last Thursday.

The Rams were scheduled to bowl at home on Monday against Gilbert. Their next competition is set for Jan. 8 in Waukee.  

The varsity girls lost by 530 points after individual game scores totaled to 1102 and the baker rounds resulted in a score of 476 for the Rams. Ava Schilling led the team totaling 234 points. Sofie Johansen scored 193 and Graci Cooklin added 186 points. 

A victory was found by the junior varsity girls, winning by 117 points. Top three JV bowlers were Nevaeh Kelly with a 191 score, Harley Smith finishing with 181 points and Shelby Finley scoring 153. 

In the boys’ competition, the Rams varsity team beat Ankeny by 102 points despite losing the baker rounds. Chase Fecher led the team with 350 points scored. Tegan Chisholm finished with a score of 337 and Carter Fecher bowled for 315 points. 

The boys JV team fell by 24 points. Leaders were Jacob Rumley with a score of 268, Damien Hull bowled 257 points and Jace Wilson bowling for 252 points.
